About AllianceHealth Midwest Diabetes and Nutrition Education

Nutrition is a critical component of diabetes care, yet can be confusing and overwhelming at times. AllianceHealth Midwest’s Diabetes Educators are here to help. Our dietitians know how to make the diabetic diet practical and personalized – to your needs and likes. Individualized sessions with our dietitians include discussion of your current food preferences and eating habits, and provide personalized recommendations that can fit with your lifestyle and correspond well with the type of diabetes medication you may take. We provide assistance with meal planning, food preparation tips and demonstrate food labels and appropriate food portions with real-life examples. Nutrition plans will focus on improving blood glucose with food choices, improving overall health, and weight loss if desired. Educational materials will be provided for easy reference. Blood glucose meter training and individualized goal-setting are included. Nutrition counseling begins with an initial session, and follow-up sessions are offered. If you have questions about our nutrition counseling services, please call our diabetes coordinator, Lindsay Scott at (405) 610-1185.

You can use HSA, FSA, or HRA funds to pay for your procedure. You may be able to apply payment to your deductible, however eligibility is determined by your insurance provider and depends on your plan.
