  • Anesthesiologist fee: regional or general anesthesia for the entire duration of the procedure

About Dr. Amelia Ann Sorensen

Dr. Sorensen specializes in hand, wrist and microvascular surgery. Her clinical interests include the treatment of traumatic, degenerative and neuromuscular conditions of the wrist and hand, including fracture care, nerve surgery, arthroscopy, joint replacement, and microsurgical techniques. Dr. Sorensen completed her fellowship in orthopaedic hand surgery at the University of California San Diego. She completed her orthopaedic surgery residency at Barnes Jewish Hospital/Washington University. She earned her medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Sorensen has published articles in orthopaedic journals and has presented her work at national meetings. Her current research focuses on patient outcome measures, radiographic analysis of distal radius fractures and advanced techniques in hand fracture fixation and rehabilitation. Dr. Sorensen works to promote interest in science and orthopaedics among women leading interactive programs for high school and medical students.
