About Greg Sassmannshausen, MD
A board certified orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Sassmannshausen has been with FWO since 2003. This Fort Wayne native played sports in high school and college, which led to his career in orthopedic sports medicine. As he says, "Working with athletes of all levels in preventing, diagnosing, and treating injuries allows me to mesh my love for sports with my love for orthopedics."
As a specialist in sports medicine, Dr. Sassmannshausen works closely with patients, as well as parents and coaches. He's also associated with several area sports teams, including the Fort Wayne Komets and Mad Ants, as well as several area high schools. "The best part of my job is the relationships I develop with my patients." He continues, "I am blessed to have a job I truly enjoy."
Away from his sports medicine practice, Dr. Sassmannshausen stays close to sports, spending time coaching football and playing golf and basketball. He also enjoys spending time with his family and landscaping.
