Joining SSM Health as an interventional cardiologist, Dr. HeeKong Fong is excited to continue making a difference in patients' lives and advancing the field of cardiology with his expertise and compassionate approach to care.

Fluent in four languages, including English, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Malay, Dr. Fong is able to connect with a diverse range of patients, facilitating clear communication and providing personalized care. Additionally, Dr. Fong is certified as an interpreter in Chinese, Cantonese & Mandarin.

Dr. Fong's educational journey began at Taylor's University College in Malaysia, followed by his prestigious medical education at Kasturba Medical College in Manipal, India. He furthered his training by completing an internal medicine residency at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Driven by his passion for cardiology, he pursued advanced training, including a Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California, and an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at St. Luke's Mid America Heart Institute in Kansas City, Missouri; both institutions consistently ranked among the best U.S. hospitals for cardiology. Throughout his career, Dr. Fong's commitment to advancing the field of cardiology is evident through numerous publications.
