Kate Smiley, MD is a board-certified General Surgeon at Intermountain Health’s Jerry & Kathleen Grundhofer Clinic in Park City, Utah. She supports patients in Park City, Snyderville, Kamas, and other surrounding communities, with clinical interests in minimally invasive abdominal surgery (laparoscopic and robotic), the treatment of breast conditions, and improving access to surgical care worldwide. When patients meet with her, she wants them to know she is a partner in their health and seeks to improve their well-being, with a positive and effective experience during consultations.

Dr. Smiley is excited about the advancements in surgical technology and improved imaging techniques, which contribute to more accurate diagnoses and enhanced treatment outcomes. She brings a patient-centered approach, prioritizing her patients' needs and working collaboratively with them to achieve their healthcare goals.

Dr. Smiley is a Kentuckian who fell in love with Utah during her surgical training in Salt Lake City. She is honored to join Intermountain Healthcare’s team of caregivers in the Wasatch Back. Outside of work, she is the proud mom of two young children, and enjoys skiing, yoga, indoor cycling, and hiking with her family.
