About Marc Schatz, MD

Dr. Marc Schatz is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine, with expertise in complex knee injuries as well as shoulder and elbow conditions. He is committed to caring for the South Florida community by providing the highest quality care and treating every patient with the same compassion and attention he would want for his own family.

Dr. Schatz earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine before completing his orthopaedic surgery residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. During residency, he was recognized for both clinical and academic excellence, being named Resident of the Year and receiving the Program Director Award for achieving the highest Orthopaedic In-Training Examination scores in his class.

He then completed advanced fellowship training in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine, Shoulder, and Elbow Surgery at the Campbell Clinic–University of Tennessee, where he gained extensive experience in cutting-edge minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques, as well as complex reconstructive procedures.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Schatz has contributed to orthopaedic research and education. He authored “Superior Labral Anterior to Posterior Tears: Repair, Tenodesis, or Both?” and co-authored a manuscript in AAOS Now examining the role of navigation and robotics in shoulder arthroplasty.

Dr. Schatz takes a patient-centered approach, emphasizing joint decision-making and individualized treatment plans. Whether helping athletes return to play or guiding patients back to an active lifestyle, he is proud to serve South Florida with excellence in orthopaedic care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Schatz enjoys staying active, spending time with his family, working on cars, and being by the water.
