Chronic, non-healing wounds, those that haven’t shown signs of improvement in several weeks or are not responding to typical treatments, need extra help to heal. Difficult wounds of this type are often caused by injury, disease or poor blood supply. Merit Health Wesley provides specialized treatment for these types of wounds. Each wound is unique, and our Wound Care and Hyperbarics department is staffed with doctors and nurses with expertise in chronic disease management and specialized training in healing chronic wounds that have resisted traditional treatment. An individualized treatment plan is developed for each patient in order to achieve optimal wound healing.
