Dr. Scott MacDonald received his undergraduate degree in psychology from Auburn University in Montgomery, Alabama, and earned his medical degree from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee, where he graduated in the top 5% of his class. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residence with Wellmont Health Systems (now ETSU Orthopaedic Residency), where he trained with Dr. Richard Duncan. Dr. MacDonald then completed a combined orthopaedic and neurosurgery spine fellowship at Duke University, where he was trained in the latest minimally invasive spine surgery. Dr. MacDonald returned to the Tri-Cities with the intent of bringing the latest in spine surgery to the area. When he's not treating patients, Dr. MacDonald enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife Leslie live in the Kingsport area with their children, Mason and Hayden.
