Specific CARF Commendation

This report provides a summary of the organization’s strengths and identifies the sections of the CARF standards that were applied on the survey and the findings in each area. In conjunction with its evaluation of conformance to
the specific program/service standards, CARF assessed conformance to its business practice standards, referred to as "ASPIRE to Excellence," which are designed to support the delivery of the programs/services within a
sound business operating framework to promote long-term success.
CARF found that Present Moments Recovery demonstrated the following strengths:
“The organization is recognized across the San Diego area and is well respected in the community. It offers an impressive variety of programs/services, including detoxification/withdrawal management, intensive outpatient treatment, ambulatory detoxification, outpatient treatment, partial hospitalization, residential treatment, and community housing (which offers a sober living environment to clients). Services are provided in a warm, welcoming environment that is free of judgment and shame.
Earnest and highly dedicated, programmatic staff members love their jobs. Their exceptional enthusiasm for the work they do was palpable through the interviews conducted online and telephonically during this survey.
Staff members' comments reflected that they feel empowered to help clients throughout all aspects of the organization's programs. They greatly enjoy working for the owners, whom they consider to be great leaders.
They feel part of the organization, and they love the programs they have all created together.
When asked what they would do with a hypothetical $1 million dollars to improve Present Moments Recovery, staff members were hard pressed to respond, saying that they consider the organization to already be of high quality. Ultimately, their only suggestions were to install a swimming pool for the supported housing program and to use any additional funds to provide treatment to persons who could not otherwise afford it."
