Forehead Lift (brow lift)

Forehead lift or a brow lift is a surgical procedure that is used to raise the eyebrows, improve frown lines, reposition brows or correct creases across the forehead or the bridge of the nose. Oftentimes eyelid surgery, facelift or skin resurfacing are performed in conjunction with a brow lift. 

A forehead lift typically is one to two hours and is conducted with IV or local anesthesia. The forehead lift (brow lift) surgery can be performed several ways with the newest approach is with an endoscope. A surgeon will make several very small incisions along the hairline and a thin scope is used to complete the surgeon. This type of surgery leads to the least amount of scarring in the long term. The alternative uses longer incisions in order to lift the brow into the place determined before surgery. Some patients may even want a higher hairline to restore balance on the face.
