This includes a loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP), which uses a thin, low-voltage electrified wire loop to cut out abnormal cervical tissue. This procedure is performed in the physician's office and not in a hospital.

About Alyson Otero, MD
Alyson Otero, M.D., is a Las Cruces native and completed her undergraduate degree at New Mexico State University. She went on to earn a medical degree with honors from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Since completing her residency at the University of Colorado in Denver, she has returned home to serve her community. She is an OB-GYN with a passion for helping women in all phases of their lives from adolescent to postmenopausal care. She has a special interest in cervical dysplasia and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
