Dr. Celina Hawthorne is the Founder and Director of Grace in Motion Rehab, bringing over 25 years of experience in rehabilitation and a deep passion for helping others live life to the fullest. Celina began her career as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) after earning her Associate of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy from Lincoln Land Community College. As her passion for healthcare leadership grew, she pursued a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in Healthcare Management from The University of Texas at Tyler, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She later went on to earn her Doctor of Occupational Therapy from Baylor University, graduating top of her class and receiving the prestigious Baylor Light Award for Excellence.
While her professional achievements are important, Celina’s greatest joy comes from her family. She is married to Andy Hawthorne, and together they have three precious children—Dean, Molly, and Ella—who you might see around the clinic since Grace in Motion is truly a family-friendly space. When she’s not helping clients, Celina is likely spending time with her family, serving in her church, or tending to her beloved flock of chickens—hatching eggs, raising chicks, and, of course, cuddling them for what she calls the best therapy there is!
At Grace in Motion Rehab, Celina’s faith and passion for holistic, individualized care shine through in everything she does. She believes therapy should be personal, meaningful, and designed with the whole person in mind, and she has built Grace in Motion to be a place where clients feel seen, valued, and supported every step of the way.
I am currently NBCOT certified making me an Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR).
