Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Dr. Carlton completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin before earning his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. His residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh provided him with a strong foundation in general surgery, which he later augmented with advanced training in bariatric, laparoscopic, and robotic surgical techniques. He further honed his expertise during an advanced fellowship under Dr. Erik Wilson, a world-renowned leader in robotic surgery, at the Bariatric Medical Institute of Texas in San Antonio and Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in Houston. Dr. Carlton’s dedication to innovation and precision has led him to mentor other surgeons, proctoring them in the latest surgical advancements.
