About Christopher Gibbs, MD
Christopher Gibbs, MD
Dr. Christopher Gibbs is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon with advanced training in the treatment of hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder conditions. Originally from Northeast Ohio, Dr. Gibbs brings a compassionate, evidence-based approach to caring for patients with upper extremity injuries, nerve compression, trauma, and degenerative disorders. He specializes in arthroscopic surgery, including rotator cuff tears and arthroplasty (shoulder replacements).
Dr. Gibbs earned his medical degree from the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he also served as a clinical instructor and clinician-scientist. During his time in Pittsburgh, Dr. Gibbs was team physician for the University of Pittsburgh Varsity Volleyball team and Woodland Hills High School football team.
He then pursued advanced fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
When Dr. Gibbs is not seeing patients, he likes to spend time with his wife and six children, get outdoors, stay active in the church, and play sports.
Education
Dr. Gibbs earned his undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology from Grove City College, graduating summa cum laude. There, he was captain of the varsity football team and the first two-time Academic All-American in program history
Dr. Gibbs went on to receive his medical degree from the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine before completing his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. There, he also served as a clinical instructor on the clinician-scientist track. He continued his training with a dedicated fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
