Procedure Details
This includes a functional capacity evaluation (FCE). A functional capacity evaluation is a series of tests and questionnaires used to evaluate work related physical abilities. It may be used to help match a worker to a job based on the ‘Dictionary of Occupational Titles’ classification of sedentary, light, medium or heavy work. An FCE can form a medical basis for return-to-work decisions. The test lasts approximately four hours including time to complete a medical history and answer other questions.
