Dr. David Impastato is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation with fellowship training in interventional spine. His areas of expertise include epidural steroid injections, facet injections, radiofrequency nerve ablation, joint injections, spinal cord stimulation, and electrodiagnostics.
Originally from New Orleans, his undergraduate studies kept him close to home, and he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biological science from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. While at LSU, he walked onto the LSU football team and earned scout team honors numerous times. Next, Dr. Impastato earned his medical degree from LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine, where he was class president and inducted into the AOA honor society. He went on to complete his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Washington Medical Center, a top five residency program, and served as chief resident. He concluded his training with an interventional spine fellowship at the Swedish Neuroscience Institute in Seattle, Washington.
Dr. Impastato values providing all potential options, educating on potential outcomes as well as prevention, and actively involving patients in choosing the best personalized treatment plan. He takes a conservative approach to treatment while recommending nonsurgical interventions when appropriate to best tackle patients' symptoms. As a former athlete, he puts an emphasis on exercising and getting patients back to the activities they enjoy.
Outside of seeing patients, he likes to spend time running, hiking, playing most sports, coaching his kids' teams, and exploring the Pacific Northwest with his wife and two kids.
