Procedure Details
This includes a hernia repair for the following types epigastric, incisional, ventral, umbilical, spigelian, inguinal or femoral. A hernia is when an organ or tissue pushes through an abnormal opening. This includes the insertion of mesh. Your purchase includes the following services:
- Facility feeoperating and recovery room services & supplies for outpatient stay (less than 24 hours) at Oro Valley Hospital
- Physician feetreatment and procedure-related postoperative follow-up visit(s) within 90 days of surgery for all hernia repair types except abdominal hernias. Abdominal hernia repairs do not have a covered postoperative period. Does NOT include the initial evaluation to determine the need of the procedure.
- Anesthesiologist feeregional or general anesthesia for the entire duration of the procedure
- Pathology feespecimen(s) examination and tests for diagnosis. This test does not include the pathologic workup of malignancy. If malignancy is discovered during your procedure, additional charges will be incurred.

Dr. Comstock was born and raised in the Midwest, graduating from college at University of Michigan and receiving his medical degree from Michigan State University. He completed his surgical residency at the University of Virginia and Roanoke Memorial Hospitals in Virginia. Dr. Comstock had a very busy and active private practice for 18 years in Michigan, where he served as Chief of Surgery for more than 10 years, before relocating to Tucson in 2005.
He offers patients expertise in all areas of general surgery and is proficient in techniques ranging from minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures, to the open techniques that can be required in complicated cases.
