Dr. John McAllister joined Advanced Bone & Joint in 1989. He earned his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He was certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery in 1991 and has been recertified since.
Dr. McAllister is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), St. Charles-Lincoln County Medical Society, and Missouri State Medical Association. He is currently affiliated with Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Peters and Progress West Hospital. He also is a partial owner in St. Peters Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Published in various articles and an active participant in a variety of research studies, Dr. McAllister also serves as a consultant to DonJoy and Salient Surgical Technologies.
Dr. McAllister has been involved with various committees, serving as chief of surgery and chief of staff-elect, and he is the current chief of staff at Progress West Hospital. He was also the previous chief of staff at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Peters and the previous medical director at St. Peters Ambulatory Surgery Center. Dr. McAllister is the President Emeritus of Advanced Bone & Joint.
