Dr. Hathaway is an experienced physician specializing in adult gastroenterology. After earning his doctorate from the Medical University of South Carolina, he went on to complete an internal medicine residency and a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Dr. Hathaway also served as assistant professor of internal medicine at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia.
Dr. Hathaway works diligently to stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and best practices in the field of gastroenterology, and maintains an active membership with the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterology Association and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He is board-certified in gastroenterology.
Some of Dr. Hathaway’s special interests include therapeutic endoscopy, capsule endoscopy, ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangio pancreatography), esophageal and colonic stents, Bravo pH Probe, Esophageal Manometry and BARRX procedure (a Barretts Esophagus treatment). He also has a passion for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease.
