Procedure Details
This includes a hernia repair for the following types epigastric, incisional, ventral, umbilical, spigelian, inguinal or femoral. A hernia is when an organ or tissue pushes through an abnormal opening. This includes the insertion of mesh. - Facility feeoperating and recovery room services & supplies for outpatient stay (less than 24 hours) at Intermountain Medical Center
- Physician feetreatment and procedure-related postoperative follow-up visit(s) within 90 days of surgery for all hernia repair types except abdominal hernias. Abdominal hernia repairs do not have a covered postoperative period. Does NOT include the initial evaluation to determine the need of the procedure.
- Anesthesiologist feeregional or general anesthesia for the entire duration of the procedure
- Pathology feeDOES NOT INCLUDE A PATHOLOGY FEE. The patient may receive a bill for this portion.

About Nickolas Byrge, MD
Nick Byrge, MD, is a general surgeon at Intermountain Health’s Trauma and General Surgery in Murray, Utah. He supports patients across the Wasatch Front, performing surgeries to treat gallbladder disease, gallstones, appendicitis, breast cancer, and more.Dr. Byrge is interested in the breadth of general surgery from elective surgery to acute care surgery.
He received his undergraduate degree in biology and Spanish from the University of Utah. He then went on to earn his medical degree from Texas A&M System Health Science Center. He completed his residency training in general surgery at the University of Utah.
Outside the clinic, the Price, Utah native enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
