Fellowship-trained interventional pain physician Dr. Scott Mayhew is dedicated to helping patients regain their quality of life and find relief from pain, which can often be chronic and overwhelming. Dr. Mayhew specializes in minimally invasive treatment modalities for sciatica, lower back pain, spinal stenosis, neck pain, joint pain, and spinal pain of multiple origins. He also treats painful peripheral neuropathies, including migraines and other intractable pain syndromes.
Dr. Mayhew has been trained in the latest state-of-the-art therapeutic options, including epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, joint injections, radiofrequency ablation, kyphoplasty, and spinal cord stimulation for pain management.
After graduating from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Mayhew earned his medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine. He then completed an emergency medicine residency at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He pursued advanced specialty training and finished an interventional pain medicine fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, New York.
As an interventional pain physician, Dr. Mayhew’s goal is to help patients regain control of their lives with effective pain management and personalized care. He focuses on finding the root cause of pain while developing a treatment plan based on minimally invasive techniques. In working with patients, Dr. Mayhew’s goal is to decrease their pain and improve their quality of life so that they can do the things they love to do.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Mayhew enjoys staying active and spending time playing golf and long-distance running. He also likes to practice playing guitar.
