This includes a partial colectomy (open). Please note that any imaging performed before or after the surgery is not included in the surgical bundle.

- Facility feeoperating and recovery room services & supplies for a normal inpatient stay (average 3 to 4 days) which will be determined by your physician at Merit Health River Oaks
- Physician feetreatment and procedure-related postoperative follow-up visit(s) within 90 days of surgery. Does NOT include the initial evaluation to determine the need of the procedure.
- Anesthesiologist feeregional or general anesthesia for the entire duration of the procedure
- Pathology feeDOES NOT INCLUDE A PATHOLOGY FEE. The patient may receive a bill for this portion.
- Hospitalist feeservices provided by a hospitalist, a doctor who is responsible for coordinating medical care for hospitalized patients if your physician becomes unavailable
- Tendo Marketplace feeCovers the cost of contracting upfront rates with all involved medical providers, processing payment, and distributing funds, minimizing administrative overhead and allowing for a lower total price

Armed with a B.S. Degree in Science from Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, Dr. Abston earned his Medical Degree from The University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He went on to complete his internship and residency in General Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Medical Association.
