Dr. W. Anthony Frisella joined Advanced Bone & Joint in 2007. He is a fellowship-trained shoulder surgeon and is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. Frisella grew up in St. Peters, Missouri, and graduated from Harvard University in 1995. He attended medical school at Washington University in St. Louis, where he received the Robert Carter Medical Student Award. After his residency training at the University of Iowa, he completed a fellowship in shoulder surgery in New York City in 2007.
Dr. Frisella is the only fellowship-trained shoulder surgeon practicing in St. Charles County. He is active in teaching and researching problems of the shoulder. He continues to publish and give talks about the shoulder, and often serves as an instructor, teaching other surgeons new techniques in shoulder surgery.
Dr. Frisella has spoken both at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA) on cutting-edge shoulder procedures, and he has instructed other surgeons in new arthroscopic techniques. He has published papers, book chapters, and given national talks on rotator cuff repair, and he has published research improving the outcomes of shoulder replacement.
Dr. Frisella is an expert in problems of the shoulder, especially rotator cuff tears, arthritis, and sports injuries. His specialized training and expertise allow him to deliver modern, high-quality care to his patients.
